Arches National Park

First off. We decided to stay in a cabin since it was cheaper than a hotel but more comfortable than sleeping bags and a tent (which we don't own anyway).

It was tiny. But functional.

Tuesday, May 20, we went up and walked around some of the arches, more specifically Turret Arch and the Windows.

We also went to see the Double Arch. And look what I found on the way! (It's like a "Y".)

Wednesday, May 21, we hiked up to the Delicate Arch which was pretty tough. It wasn't as scary a hike as it sounded. It was hard though - I had to take a few breaks to breath. It was lovely, though. =)

Beautiful

We stopped by this small site to see some hieroglyphics after hiking to Delicate Arch.

We drove around the north part of the park and then headed back to Provo. Below are some pictures from the northern area of the park.

Here are just some other random photos from our time in Arches:

Read cans

Dear Eyes,
In the future, please be careful and read all cans before purchasing rather than just glancing.

I now tingle and feel slightly uncomfortable.

Hating you a little,
Mouth

P.S. In case you didn't know the difference, jalapenos are NOT the same as green chilies (even if the cans look identical to you).

Pictures from graduation week

So these are way overdue, but here are some random photos. You wouldn't be able to tell it was graduation week without my mentioning it, but whatever.

We hiked the Y the morning of our convocation. On the way down I started to doubt whether or not that had been a good idea because my legs were so shaky, but luckily my legs had time to rest in the few hours before convocation.

Here are some pictures from the hike:

New Heritage Halls

The Y. Or...part of it anyway.

I took this picture after my family had left. Evidence that at least Aiden was here (if you know him, you get it; if not, you might be able to infer; hint: it has nothing to do with the specific items themselves):

And a cookie. =) Did all students get a treat at their convocation or did just the Marriott School students get one? Either way, big thanks to Isaac for grabbing us each a cookie.

The power of font size

I was just now working on a paper and was a short paragraph short from meeting the page requirement but didn't want to make up stuff to talk about. And then I remembered that I was typing in size 11 and could submit it in size 12. Changed the font size. Page 2 filled. Done.

Now for one more assignment, some reading, two papers (at least 1 of which I will also do in size 12 font), and I will no longer have homework.

Also. A fun quote from Bry's finance professor today (I went to his class today because Bry loves it and I wanted to see this professor for myself).

Professor: "I like dirt. I can relate to it."

A random post about me

Okay. So because I want a break from homework, here's a random post, although it is related to the homework I am working on.

For my leadership class, early on in the semester, I took a personality test that rated me in a few areas based on my responses. One of those areas was extraversion. The results for extraversion crack me up. See if you can figure out why. Bry could.

"You are equally fond of having fun with others and being alone. In general, you are energetic but not overenthusiastic. You like your privacy but also do well in groups. At parties or in a group, you do not feel a need for attention. If asked or if there is a reason to do so, you will voice your opinion. You do not feel the need to be busy all the time, but you are also not one to simply relax. You feel comfortable with people who are not afraid to take the initiative when the situation arises. But you can also deal with people who are introverted or who crave attention. You enjoy contact with others, but this is not essential. You can appear to be both hesitant and spontaneous."

Have you ever...

Gone into a store to buy a skirt, jeans, or shoes and come out with a cheese grater?

No?

Oh... well, me either...

Happenstance on Ninth

Bry and I had a probably once-in-a-lifetime moment this afternoon in the BYU Creamery on Ninth.

We were standing in line with our few groceries. As we came up to the cashier, Bry noticed the guy's name tag and saw that he was from Saskatoon. So they talked just a bit, and the guy behind us in line spoke up and mentioned he's from Manitoba and they should have a hockey party or something. How CRAZY IS THAT? All the prairie provinces represented in the same place - and a grocery store at that!

It was really cool. Bry was pretty excited.
