This year was possibly the quietest Thanksgiving of my life. It ended up just being Bry and I on Thanksgiving day. It was so great to have him home on a weekday (even though it totally threw off my sense of what day of the week it was), and although it would have been nice to have been with lots of family, it was nice to have a relaxing holiday.
We started off the day by going to see Mockingjay, Part 1 which we both enjoyed.
We came home, ate lunch and were able to relax in the afternoon. We both worked on preparing the food for our Thanksgiving dinner. Since it was just the two of us, we kept it small and simple: ham, seasoned red potatoes, grapes for dinner with water and apple juice to drink; Toll House pie for dessert.
While it was nice to have a quiet Thanksgiving day, we were grateful to be joined on Friday and Saturday by Laurel Lee, Robert, and Valerie. We had Thanksgiving food, round 2, on Friday night - same food as Thursday but with stuffing also.
Saturday morning we woke up to snow which was a surprise! I blame Bry since he'd been saying it wasn't winter to him until he saw snow. Now it's winter. Luckily, it didn't snow too much and stopped snowing by late morning so the Corkrans were able to drive back to Portland safely.
