Old Treasures

Becca helped me clear out some of the junk from my room this past Friday and I found some things that I no longer need but that I thought were worth a picture.

Electronic dogs that I thought were amazing when I was little.
A radio that made me feel like the coolest kid in elementary school because it was so small.
Slippers that were made by Grandma Chase many years ago.
My old dream catcher which I'd had since I was little.

Aiden quotes from last week

Cousins aren't babies. Ever.

(When asked what he thinks a good baby girl name is:) Jesus.

I'm not handsome! I'm not wearing my Cars outfit.

(An Aiden classic for getting Landon to quiet down:) CROCODILE BOO! CROCODILE BOO!

Anderson/Snow family visit - overdue post

My parents, sister and nephews came out to visit Bry and I the second week of August. I gladly enjoyed being able to go around and see many of the sites that Bry and I went to our first month out here. In addition to some sites that were familiar for me, we also went to the Museum of Flight which was really cool. I forgot to bring my camera the first day so I missed taking photos at the Aquarium, on the Harbor Cruise, and at Pike Place Market.

View from the Space Needle. Foggy day.

ZOO!

The otters were napping.

A hippo out of water! Might be the first time I've seen that.

Sitting in this plane freaked Aiden out because it made sounds.

Why isn't airplane food still like this?

This was Aiden's parting gift to us - he heard we had fruit flies in our apartment so this was his attempt at a trap. He sure is a cute kid. And he sure loves organizing magnets.

In addition to seeing some sights while they were here, we ate at some tasty restaurants, mom taught me how to cook fish (Bry was really excited about that), and mom bought maternity clothes for me and a pack'n'play for my baby, as well as a couple other items. Becca helped to clean up our second bedroom which was incredible and we can easily walk around in it now as opposed to doing the acrobatics that were previously required. My dad helped to move things out to our patio closet and installed a shelf in our washer/dryer/dining room closet which significantly added to the amount of stuff we can put in there. Thus, our kitchen is now better organized because we were able to move some things into that closet. It's great.

I'm so grateful for my family - for how helpful they are and how much they care about me and about Bry. I love them and I'm so glad I was able to see them up here for a week.

Happy half-way to me!

Today I am 20 weeks and would like to announce that last week the ultrasound technician said our baby looks like a GIRL! =D

Note: I'm not really showing much - following after my mom and sister in that way. When there's a bump to be seen, I'll post a picture for you.

Blog Update!

I changed the look of our blog! Now the background matches where we live. =) I was feeling like it needed a change, so here we go.

Baby giggles are too cute

This is my nephew Landon a week and a half ago in a restaurant. He liked it. Also, note his semi-crazy arm flailing. =) So funny.

Behold. More arm flails. This was totally cracking me up because he would wiggle his arms before each Cheerio.

Bingham Family Reunion

August 1-8 was a fun week with the Bingham clan in Lincoln City. With 22 children and 10-16 adults (varied by day and activity), it was pretty crazy at times. We saw a lot of great places and I enjoyed spending time with them. Bry wished he could have stayed the whole week but with having started a new job this summer, it wasn't feasible, so he just came for the first couple days over the weekend. After he left I tried to take plenty of photos to fill him in.

On Saturday, we did family photos on the beach and watched a slideshow of families' photos from the last 2 years. Sunday we mostly took it easy.

Monday was our first day of adventure/travel. We went to two cheese factories up in Tillamook - Blue Heron and Tillamook. At Blue Heron we were able to browse the shop, feed some animals and the kids got to climb around on old farming vehicles/equipment. At Tillamook we walked through the factory viewing the process of making and packaging cheese, sampled some amazing cheese, and ate delicious ice cream. I would have taken a picture of mine because it ended up being a huge cone of ice cream, but I was too busy trying to lick it down to a less messy size.

In line for samples: "This is where our religion begins." ;)

Tuesday we drove over to Devil's Lake and hiked down to a waterfall and bridge. It was beautiful and it felt great to be outside in the woods.

Wednesday morning the kids/cousins participated in some "Olympic" games.

Award ceremony.
Watermelon-eating contest.

Wednesday afternoon we visited tide pools.

Thursday the cousins got to play some more games, the Bingham siblings went out for lunch, and we made a final trip down to the beach.

Our short walk to the beach.

See the faces in the sand? :)

"Tender-hearted sweet soul" - he's a cutie!

Birthday boy!

Friday was the pack-up-and-leave day, so we all said our goodbyes. BIG thank you to those who finished cleaning up the house at the end of the trip and to all those who helped with the preparation and planning of this big event. It was wonderful and I look forward to more reunions to come. :)
