Last week when my family was in town, I had a conversation with Aiden (who is almost 4.5 years old) that went something like this:
Aiden: There are TWO grandmas here.
Me: Oh?
Aiden: Grandma, and ME.
Me: You can't be a grandma, you're male - a boy.
Aiden: Huh?
Me: You're a male and grandmas are female, so you can't be a grandma. You're a male like dad, grandpa, uncle Patrick and Bry. Grandma and mom and auntie are female.
Aiden: Male? I can fit in a mail box?
Me: No. That's a different kind of male, this is spelled differently.
Becca (from the other room): It has different letters.
Aiden: Letters? In the mail box!
...Somehow I did not anticipate him making those connections.

Funny Bingham reunion quotes
1. Kurt walks Damon (who is 3) downstairs and Damon wants to walk on the ledge next to the stairs.
Kurt: "Damon, I don't want you walking on that ledge because you could fall and break your neck and die, and lose your mortal life."
2. Mark (Bry's dad) describing something he wouldn't want to do: "It would be like straining gnats' teeth."
3. Rochelle let me borrow a sweater of hers when we went to some tide pools because it was really cold and she had an extra. Liam, who is 3 years old, walks over to me and grabs a corner of it, looking up at me with a puzzled expression.
Liam: "Why are you wearing my mom's sweater?"
4. Many of us are sitting outside the house at the picnic tables. Dave pulls up to park alongside the house.
Liam: "Daddy's home!"
Zach (about 1.5 years old): "Dada!"
Liam, turning to look at Zach next to him: "No - it's my dad."
5. Roxanne to Will (who is about 3): "Are you Will-Will Chayne?" (Chayne said sh-ay-n)
Will: "No. I'm Will-Will Chayne Bingham."
6. Bry and I ask what food Evan likes (he's 4).
Evan: "I like a lot. I can't name all of them."
Me: "Name a few of your favorites."
Evan: "Cantaloupe, grapes... strawberries and watermelon."
Kurt: "Damon, I don't want you walking on that ledge because you could fall and break your neck and die, and lose your mortal life."

More chocolate chips?
So today Bry and I went online and filled out a health assessment through his work so that we can avoid being charged a weekly fee. It asked common health-related questions about your health history, lifestyle, activity, diet, etc. In taking it I started thinking about how we need to go grocery shopping and buy more fruit and tried to think of ways we could incorporate more vegetables into what we eat.
Within 15 minutes of taking it, Bry's in the kitchen and as he goes to eat some of the brownies I baked last night he says "we should add chocolate chips next time."
Me: "They already have chocolate chips!"
Bry: "We could add more!"
These are the brownies I bake:
I think they have enough chocolate chips.

4th of July in Portland
Bry and I drove down to Portland to spend the holiday weekend with family. We greatly enjoyed seeing the Plasters and Corkrans for a few days and were grateful we were able to be there.
I wasn't very good at remembering to take photos while we were there, but here's what I did get.
Some pictures from when we went to the beautiful rose gardens.
This is a fountain we came to for an outing so the kids could run around in the cool water on a hot day.
Horses and mules that we fed carrots to.

Parsley is a beautifier
I've decided that parsley makes food look beautiful, whether it is fresh or dried.
Case in point.
This was tonight's totally-substitute dinner. We thought a recipe we had sounded good, but realized that we didn't quite have the right things, so this is what happened...
Recipe What we put in
Linguine Corkscrew pasta (or whatever it's technically called)
Fresh parsley Dried parsley
Extra virgin olive oil Light olive oil
Sliced garlic Diced garlic from our refrigerator
Red pepper flakes Chili powder
...Needless to say, it was not as good as the actual recipe. But it was decent.

Food I'd like to eat in heaven (since calories won't count, right?)
This afternoon has been wonderful. I have eaten some super delicious things.
First. I made some Muddy Buddies which were introduced to me by a friend my freshman year at BYU (first year of college = super healthy, right?). I've loved them ever since. Today was the first time I made them myself (with a little help from Bry).
YUM.
Second. We went shopping at Costco and I had noticed they have some great looking spinach dip last time we went but we already had a lot in our cart so I decided to wait until next time. This time was next time. So we bought some. I wanted some good bread for it to go on, so I went to the bakery area and they had some amazing breads (that were still WARM!). I selected the Italian Pugliese. Aside from my mom's homemade French bread, this is possibly my favorite bread. SO good (especially when still warm).

We like benches?
So before we left Provo, Bry and I had our friends Morgan and Dusty take some photos of us. Morgan was our home teacher for most of the time we were in our married student ward, and Dusty has been an awesome friend of mine since we moved into the ward. We miss them both.
Note: Pictures are listed according to the order in which stated event occurred.
1. The bench where Bry asked me to be his girlfriend (I required he ask me formally so we didn't have the weird confusion I'd heard of other people having where they didn't know if their dating was official/exclusive). He kindly heeded my request and waited until it was 9/10/11 (cool date, right?), although he was ready to ask me a few days prior to that.
2. This is where Bry and I first kissed, not that you likely care to know. We had a lot of long conversations here, too, when we were dating.
The picture below is of the bench (not far from the previous bench) I told him to take me to if he was ever going to break up with me. Needless to say we've never sat at that bench. And yes, it was a cheesy or whatever-other-adjective-you-think-of idea to have this bench designated for that.
3. Lastly, the bench at which he proposed to me, which is behind the Provo temple. It didn't look like this when he proposed - it had snowed lightly and was night time.
Okay, one more (bonus). This one was obviously not taken in Provo, but still at a bench. Day we got married. =)
Anyway. That's enough mushy stuff.
